Gallery Exhibit: Montevallo Downtown

The historical exhibit Montevallo Downtown "Over the Years" curated by Becky Bolton Crisswell was on display in the Parnell Memorial Library Gallery during the months of April and May, 2012.

Debra Riffe Exhibit and Reception

The Montevallo Arts Council is pleased to announce the exhibit of artist, Debra Riffe, for the month of March at the Parnell Memorial Library Gallery in Montevallo. Ms. Riffe is a native of Tupelo, Mississippi and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Howard University, College of Fine Arts, in Washington, D.C. Passionate about needlepoint and block printing, her compositions focus exclusively on rural southern African Americans. She has been featured in Southern Living Magazine, interviewed on NPR, and is the recipient of numerous awards. The Council will host a gallery talk by the artist on Sunday, March 11th at 3:00 p.m. followed by a reception given in her honor. The public is welcome to attend.

Art of Christoffer Frank

An eclectic exhibit of art by Christoffer Frank, currently from Alabaster, Alabama, will open at the Parnell Memorial Library Gallery on January 9, 2012.  Chris was an artist from a very young age, then elected to pursue the ministry, and then returned ten years later to art.  His medium of choice is watercolor.  However, he excels in charcoal, graphite, pen and ink and oil pastels.  His work is progressive because he paints in series,  being inspired by the twists and turns his life takes.  His work will be on display untl February 29.  The public is invited to the reception and gallery talk on January 15, 2012 at 3:00 PM.  at Parnell Memorial Library.
